advanced design studies for sustainability (ades4s) course 2020/2021

Our course in Advanced Design Studies for Sustainability (ades4s) launches in the study year 2020/2021. The study year begins in October 2020 and completes in early July 2021.

The Program is run in English and is mandatory to attend in person.

The course consists of 5 theme-based modules. Each module is completed with a group project. After completion of the 5 modules, students work on their individual graduation projects, awarded with the Institute’s graduation certificate.

All modules are compulsory to obtain the graduation certificate issued by the institute.

In some cases, applications from professionals who would like to attend one or more modules may be considered, for which ADES will award a certificate of attendace in the particular module(s).

ads4s 2020/2021 preliminary module themes:

The duration of each of the study modules varies from 3 to 6 weeks and each module ends with a one week’s group project. The modules are planned around major global holidays in the winter and in spring, as well as there are set short study breaks for students to visit home or to travel.

The students will also have an opportunity to learn various other skills, like mindfullness, community building and role of crafts, by visiting sustainable communities - one in the foothills of Himalayas, and the other in the desert of Israel. As well as, collaborative workshops will be carried out together with our affiliates - MAD international summer school of design, Latvia, The Laboratory of Artificial Biology, Italy, and Art Quarter in Budapest. These are planned as part of the study curriculum and the students are stongly encoureged to attend.
